Former Miss Switzerland and model Beatrice Keul has reportedly accused US President Donald Trump of sexual assault, according to a report released by Democratic lawmakers examining Trump's alleged connections to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. The allegations, which the White House has strongly denied, have renewed political scrutiny of Trump's past associations as the United States approaches the midterm elections.
According to the report, Keul told Democratic committee staff during interviews conducted over several weeks that she met Trump in November 1993 at New York's Plaza Hotel, which was owned by Trump at the time. She was reportedly 24 years old and attending a press event connected to a pageant.
Keul alleged that Trump offered to help arrange her visa and secure admission to New York University, telling her that he would take care of her. She further claimed that after their conversation, Epstein approached her and described himself as Trump's best friend before inviting her to a party at Trump's Mar-a-Lago resort.
The report alleges that a representative of Trump later invited Keul to an upper floor of the Plaza Hotel. According to her account, Trump allegedly sexually assaulted her after she entered the room. The report describes her allegations of physical injuries, torn clothing and bleeding during the alleged incident.
Keul reportedly characterized the alleged assault as brutal. She further claimed that after the incident, Trump repeated his promises concerning a visa and university admission and urged her to remain silent, allegedly telling her that the show must go on.
The allegations represent an escalation from Keul's earlier public account in October 2024, when she reportedly accused Trump of inappropriate sexual conduct during the encounter but did not publicly make the same specific allegation of rape. Her earlier account stated that she attempted to protect herself during the alleged incident.
The White House has categorically rejected the accusations. A spokesperson described the claims as a desperate attempt by Democrats to distract the American public from Trump's achievements and the Republican Party's political standing. The administration has also denied allegations suggesting wrongdoing by Trump in connection with Epstein.
The Democratic report reportedly includes statements from four other women who have accused Trump of sexual assault or sexual harassment. These allegations remain separate claims and should not be treated as established findings of fact.
The report focuses on allegations concerning Trump's past interactions with women and his alleged association with Epstein, whose criminal activities and connections to influential figures have continued to attract public and political attention.
Epstein's case has remained a source of controversy in American politics, with lawmakers facing pressure to examine records, associations and allegations connected to his network. However, an individual's appearance in a report or association with Epstein does not, by itself, establish involvement in criminal activity.
The latest allegations have emerged amid an increasingly contentious political environment ahead of the US midterm elections. The handling of Epstein-related files, questions about political accountability and concerns over rising living costs are among the issues drawing public attention.
With the White House firmly rejecting the accusations and Democratic lawmakers highlighting the claims in their report, the controversy is likely to remain part of the broader political debate surrounding Trump, Epstein-related investigations and the upcoming elections. The allegations have not been independently established as facts in the material provided.
